A Welcome Message from the President

Dear Colleagues;

Hello to all and welcome to the website of the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD). Our organization is dedicated to enhancing all aspects of teaching and learning in higher education. We do this by serving as a key resource to higher education in the development and support of faculty development practitioners and senior academic leaders. The nearly 1,600 members of POD are a diverse group. We come from an astonishing array of disciplinary backgrounds, institutional types, and geographical locations and our members represent higher education institutions from across the world. Out of this rich diversity, we come together to address our shared passion for excellence in education. We do this by focusing on issues of common interest not only across large and small, public and private institutions, but also across the disciplines.

I hope you will take some time to explore the wealth of resources available through POD and our newly revamped website. Most of all, I invite you to get involved in any one of the array of POD sponsored regional, national and international opportunities that link and support faculty developers from around the world.  If you are already involved, then you know that POD is a wonderful way to avail yourself of the wisdom, generosity and expertise to found in our greatest resource - our members.
