Welcome to the professional and organizational development network (POD) website. This higher education organization boasts a membership of faculty, academic administrators, teaching and learning center staff, faculty development coordinators, program evaluators, assessment professionals, and many others dedicated to advancing the quality of teaching and learning in higher education. Based in north america, we represent a wide array of disciplinary backgrounds, institutional types, and geographical locations of higher education institutions from around the world. Out of this diversity, we come together to address our shared passion for excellence and inclusivity in higher education.

The website offers a wealth of resources about our organizational components of faculty development, instructional development, and organizational development. we anticipate that you will find these resources useful. Our POD listserv is a very active and collegial space where you can always find engaging and beneficial discussions or answers to questions. Our wikiPODia page (https://sites.google.com/a/podnetwork.org/wikipodia/) collects our e-newsletter and other relevant and timely communication about the organization. We also invite you to participate in or present at our annual conference held in different regions of the nation. Every other summer, we hold the Institute for New Faculty Developers on the campus of one of our member institutions. Furthermore, we offer the opportunity for you to join a committee or to submit a paper for publication in To Improve the Academy, our annual, peer-reviewed journal.

POD is known for its collegiality, inclusiveness, and spirit of sharing. As we embark on a renewed strategic plan to support learning, teaching, research and leadership, we welcome you to the POD network and our website. Please join us!
